May Field Day at the Food Forest

Saturday, May 11 – Join us for any part of the day you would like.

9:00 – 10:00 AM – Plant Hardy Kiwi Vines
– Yes, we can grow kiwis in Nebraska and they make a great shade area as they vine. Come learn how!

10:00 – 11:30 AM – Ambassador Orientation – Would you like to help introduce families to the Food Forest? Or just bring your own kids to explore? Formal and informal educators are invited to come and learn about all the activities at the Food Forest. We’ll explain how to engage young people in outdoor play, no matter your previous experience.

12:00 – 2:00 PM – Educator’s Play Day – This is your chance to play! Why should the little kids get all the fun? Try out the building area. Dig in the digging area. Make some music. You’re welcome to bring a kid to show you how, but they are optional.

Give to Lincoln Day 2019

thousands of Lincolnites in giving to your favorite causes like the Southern Heights Food Forest.

We are raising money so we can bring more people to the Food Forest, and have better signs when they arrive!

Even better, each donation to SHFFis more than doubled. It’s a great time to give!

Tour Day

Mark Saturday, June 8 on your calendar to spend at the Food Forest. We’ll be there 8am-2pm with yoga, tours, music, and much more fun for all ages. It’s your chance to see how far the Food Forest has come in just a few years.

Stop By Anytime

Remember that our Nature Explore Outdoor Classroom is always open for you to play at 40th and Old Cheney. Feel free to use the supplies in the sheds. Let your little ones build, make music, and explore all they want! Not sure what to do at the Food Forest? See above for the ambassador training on May 11.
